The euphoria of getting the chance to vote in an election for a youngster is enthralling and it has a feeling of importance that cannot be deciphered but is understood by everyone.
Our school strictly follows a process of election which is tantamount to the elections held in India, on a much smaller scale. We are proud to introduce you to our Office Bearers who after tough campaigning and hard work have won the elections.
A Prefectorial Board (also called the Student Council) is a group of elected students and volunteers, working together with an adult advisor within the framework of a constitution or bylaws to provide a means for student expression and assistance in school affairs and activities, give opportunities for student experience in leadership and encourage student/faculty/community relations.
The role and purpose of the Student Council are to give students an opportunity to develop leadership by organizing and carrying out school activities and service projects. In addition to planning events that contribute to school spirit and community welfare, the student council is the voice of the student body. They help share student ideas, interests and, concerns with the school- wide community.
The student council is divided into 3 tiers:-
- the Senior Student Council
- the Middle Wing Council
- the Primary Wing Council
The election process for the prefectorial board of our school is kindred to the election process held for the Parliament of India.
- The school brings out the Nomination Form to initiate the Election process.
- Students fill the nomination form for various positions as per their choice and strength.
- Students prepare short speeches about their profile for doing the Canvassing or Campaigning and present their agenda(s).
- After the canvassing, the process of Polling takes place.
- The polling is done by the students studying in the same educational stage (Seniors, Middle, Primary) as the candidates.
- The nominees for various positions then appear for a round of interviews with the School Principal.
- The result is declared by the School Principal after counting the votes.
- The Investiture Ceremony is conducted for pinning the badges
